It also is a good marlinespiking exercise because it is mainly the ropes that hold the structure together.

The first rope is attached to each end to the branch of the tree with two anchor bends.
It holds a strong horizontal pole with two clove hitches.
The hut will be hung on that pole by two ropes tied in their center to each end bit of the branch with a clove hitch inside the previous knot.
There are now four bits on which the platform will be hung. Each pair of rope holds a log with an overhand knot with draw loop. This knot will allow you to put the logs at the same height. Becareful with this knot because if you make it head down it will slip !
To finish your construction, anchor the four bits of rope in the ground with strong pegs. (at least 1’6" long)
Use small logs to finish the platform, put a banister about 3’ from the platform, hang a ladder and cover with branches attached in their center and astride the pole ridge.
