To direct your map

• Put the north of the dial in front of the mark on the compass (no need to adjust the position of the pointer).

• Put the compass on the map and align the side of the map and the side of your compass as shown on the picture.

• Turn both the compass and the map so that the pointer indicates north on the dial.

To go further : If you want to be more precise you can take into account the magnetic declination which is calculated thanks to the north diagram . If you use the declination don’t set the exact north on the dial but the declination’s value.
