To direct your map

• Put the north of the dial in front of the mark on the compass (no need to adjust the position of the pointer).

• Put the compass on the map and align the side of the map and the side of your compass as shown on the picture.

• Turn both the compass and the map so that the pointer indicates north on the dial.

To go further : If you want to be more precise you can take into account the magnetic declination which is calculated thanks to the north diagram. If you use the declination don’t set the exact north on the dial but the declination’s value.
