The material
- 5 planks of wood 12x12" (16x16" for adults) about 1/2 to 1" thick
- A strong and nice-looking piece of string (halyard for example)
- An auger or a drill 1/3" in diameter (becareful! Get an adult to help you to drill)
- Paint and varnish to decorate the stool
If possible : - 3 pieces of wood (thin sticks) about 12" long.
- Small nails or wood glue
- A triangular plank (an equilateral triangle 11.5" for each side, 15.5" for adults) 1/2" thick maximum.
Building the stool
1. Drill the holes as shown on the picture below. The holes are 1.5" from the sides and they are 4.5" apart from each other.
2. Put planks 2,3 and 4 as shown on the picture below. Set planks 3 and 4 so as to form an equilateral triangle.
3. Then put plank 1 on top and attach it to the upper holes of plank 2
You’ve just built an adjustable lid. That way you can put your bag of billies in the stool
4. You can also put pieces of wood on planks 2, 3 and 4. Set them at the 2/3rd of the height. Put a fifth plank on top. That way your bag won’t have to touch the ground.
5. All that’s left to do is to decorate your stool with paint and collage for example. Don’t forget to varnish the stool so that it resists to humidity.
