A mini backpack

minisacados-fini

What you need:

    • A rectangular piece of fabric. Use cotton if you can. 33x62cm.
    • 1,20 m of cotton rope, the color of your fabric.
    • thread, needles, pins, safety pins, a tape measure, scissors.

Making the backpack

minisacados-etape1

1° Put the piece of fabric face against face and close the back with a seam 0.5cm from the side.

minisacados-etape2

2° With a seam 0.5cm from the side close the bottom of the bag. Make sure you keep the sides of the previous seam apart. minisacados-etape3

3° At the top of the bag fold the fabric on 0.5cm then fold again on 1.5cm with an iron. (use the help of an adult). It’s easier if you flatten the fold with an iron. Sew that hem as close to the side as you can. starting with the side seam and stop 1cm away from that seam.

minisacados-etape4 4°With the safety pin pull the cotton rope through the hem you just made. Pull the bag inside out and fix each side of the rope to an angle of the bag. That way you will get straps. You can use that bag to carry your snack or the things you find along the way.

Hints :

You can paint or embroid your favorite animal on the bag.
